week 1 done!

all i want to do is fall into bed right now. however, tons of homework has been assigned, and my weekend will be full of helping with the exhibit.

good news is that i have been averaging 5 hours a night, which beats my average last semester. bad news is i'm tired. i used to be able to do this in undergrad while still maintaining my energy level, albeit grumpily, but i don't know if i can continue doing this.

more good news: this semester is looking to be better than last. all my classes, even the one i am trying to waive using an undergrad class, seem interesting. the instructors are more organized, have their sh*t together (it's not the default at our school, unforch), smart, and seem genuinely enthusiastic about both the field and teaching. it's no longer weed-out semester. we are down 4 people but gained 2 that took some time off and are rejoining. the projects seem more interesting and engaging. i'm excited.

even better news: we have monday off for MLK, jr. day. whee! we don't get veteran's day, columbus day, or memorial day (i think, for those that do summer semester) off, but we get MLK, jr. day off a mere week after the semester started. whee! too bad i'll probably be at school all day working on all my work anyway. good news is i don't have work and a 5-hour class to interrupt me.

happy friday, all!

  5. I am not capable of existing off 5 hours of sleep every night. That can't be healthy!
