trapped

yaaaaaay!!! i'm finally freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! not only is it winter break (goodness how i've missed these long vacations), but i am free from freckles' apartment. let's just say we were locked in from about 10 PM last night and did not get out until almost 4 PM today.

it started last night when we got back to freckles' place. i was going to grab my stuff (laptop, precious slanket, etc. that i had stowed at her place earlier) and go home to cuddle with the bear (finally), but it was not to be. basically, freckles had left her keys inside. we were locked out. that's ok, i've done it a million times, being the absentmined, starchy, dense thing that i am. i waited with her in the lobby as she called the building's locksmith. he had no one he could send that late as he's not 24/7, and had limited guys working the following day (today) as it was a weekend. so we called a 24/7 service, which you should NEVER use. not only did they royally fuck up by ruining freckles' lock and as a result lock us IN to her place, the way they dealt with the whole situation was unbelievable. the locksmith "tried" to get us out but couldn't figure it out, so he went home. when we realized it was quiet and no one was working on the door anymore, we called the company. the dispatcher basically put me "on hold" (hung up on me) and then stopped answering my 10928749802070487 calls placed after that. i even *67'ed to block my number, but he still knew it was me and didn't answer. bastard. it turns out her lock is an expensive, super-duper-high-FBI-level secure one that most locksmiths can't pick, don't stock to replace, etc., so we had to wait for the buidling authorized guy to come, and he didn't show up until 2:30 PM. the first guy had totally effed up the lock when drilling it out that even this guy, who does have experience with these locks, had to muscle the door open and damage it at the latch to get i open.

i was going to write the whole riDONculous (hate that word, but no other fits here) account here along with all the infuriating details, bitchy but calm phone conversations, and laughs freckles and me had to stay sane, but that will have to wait for another day as i'm still beat from this past semester. and this entry is already too long. and i had a little too much wine at uncle bear's christmas party tonight. i may finally write a review on my yelp account. and report this to the better business bureau. and now understand why people sue companies.

the good thing is that we caught up on gossip girl. the thanksgiving episode totally made me cry. only 2 episodes behind now!

  8. insanity! we had a friend who got locked in to her apt at our old bldg, but that was because she left her keys on the outside of the door. i guess the way the doors are made you can't do that. at least security just had to come by and open the door for her. your story though is AWFUL! ugh.

i'm sooo behing on GG it's pathetic.
