the key word

here is trying. i never said i COULD and DID already drive 65. just said i'm trying. i'm a native LA driver deep down, so the habits are hard to break.

photographic evidence:

half of the way home, i was going about this speed.
stopping, starting.
yeah, not so great for the efficiency,
but i can't control traffic. sigh.

then traffic let up,
and i subconsciously went with the flow.
oops.
even after noticing, i kept going at the same speed.
for awhile.
hey, i wanted to get home to the bear and my dinner already.

then i thought about my gas bill.
and my blog.

p.s. don't ask why i redacted the odometer. i just had a compulsive urge to blur something since i'm posting photos of my car.

  1. The biggest fail is not the driving at 80 mph.

It is taking a picture while driving 80 mph.

You need a hands-free camera. Not sure how that would work, though.

  2. snorting at the monkey's comment. props for trying, it's really tempting to drive fast! cruise control would help tremendously but not very practical when surrounded by so many cars...

  3. Tsk tsk, a little dangerous taking photos while driving! Trust me, I know ;-)

I've been successfully driving around 65 mph. The speed limit here is 55 though.

  8. Weemo's thought is my original thought when reading this. Although I would have to apply the same thought to taking a picture while driving 65 and while driving 20.

    Love,
The girl who took all the pictures from her car during the San Diego Fires.

  9. I would recommend putting it on cruise control but I always get impatient with that and wind up hitting the gas.
