happy 2008!

happy new year, everyone!
mom and my brother are coming over in a bit so we can eat our dduk gook (rice cake soup). sorry, we won't be donning our hanboks.

we ended up spending our first new year's eve together cleaning our place like mad in anticipation of their visit and going to bed shortly after midnight. our place is so clean now, and it feels good. i guess we're keeping in step with our ancestor's traditions of sweeping away the old on new year's eve. at least for this year. yes, we are old, boring married farts.

we'll be doing the sehbeh (bowing to elders out of respect while giving/receiving new year wishes) thang later, but i doubt we get any cash now that we're married. oh wait, does that mean we have to give cash to my younger brother? eh...nah. the opportunity to watch the rose bowl in HD is blessing enough.

happy recovery and lazy first day of the year to everyone!

  1. Happy new year!! And I'm late to the previous post but PTL for the way you've been provided for and been such a good steward of the moola. That really inspires me to at least try as I have zero budgeting skills.
